Arcy sur Cure

Arcy-sur-Cure is a charming, Burgundy village with lovely old houses huddled along the banks of the Cure and in the village centre.

The village is famous for its listed prehistoric caves (major sites for archeological research, significant tourist site).
It also has other historical attractions.

The Agrippa (roman road), the Merovingian sarcophagus quarry, the old 14th century strong house: the Cobarde and the 18th century château de Grand Champs.

In Val Sainte Marie, the Renaissance style château du Chastenay, stands imposingly, overlooking the Cure valley.

In the hamlet of Beugnon, you can visit the 16th century St Roch chapel.

In Arcy, there are shops, restaurants, a hotel, bed and breakfast accommodation and gîtes, a holiday camp at Le Lac Sauvin, health professionals, a tennis court and post office etc.

Its two star municipal campsite (new regulations) is situated on the river banks.
