Vermenton

The region's county town has lots of commercial assets: large shopping centre, lots of tradesmen and craftsmen, and a range of services including a Tourist Information point at the Meridian Tower in July/August.

The Cistercian Abbey at Reigny (towards Avallon) is one of the region's unmissable tourist sites both in terms of its exceptional history and its various staged events (concert, exhibitions, festivals etc.)

The town, which is bordered by the Cure, is bisected by the former N6 Road (D606).

On the river banks is a large green public park, called "les îles," the perfect place to relax, play boules or picnic in the shade.

Not far away is the Nivernais canal where you can admire the boats available for weekly rental and the old washhouse or, alternatively, set off along one of the numerous hiking trails.

An award-winning, flower-filled campsite, where you will enjoy a warm reception, various bed and breakfasts and a shop selling local produce will all welcome you with open arms.
